Tethering - Terms of Use

Tethering is a function that allows external devices to connect to the internet via wireless LAN, USB or Bluetooth® of a smartphone/tablet.

Please note the following points.

Conditions

sp-mode subscription is required when using tethering.

Charges

<FOMA service subscribers>

When subscribed to Pake-hodai flat or etc*, the upper limit for packet communications for tethering is ¥7,800/month (communications made by connecting to a PC or other external device).

*Pake-hodai double2, Pake-hodai double or Pake-hodai simple.

*When subscribed to FOMA flat-rate data plan, packet communications for tethering is charged at a flat rate with a set limit.

<Xi service subscribers>

Charges are pursuant to the current Xi billing plan.

<Attention>

When tethering is enabled, all packet transmission, such as browser, mail, etc, is regarded as communications made by connecting to a PC or other external device, even when the handset is not connected to other external devices. To avoid additional costs, disabling tethering is strongly recommended when finished.

While using tethering, packet communications charges may apply. Using a flat-rate packet service such as Packet Pack is strongly recommended.

Wi-Fi tethering security

To avoid misuse by third parties, please configure portable Wi-Fi hotspot with password when using tethering.

Other

When tethering is enabled, some sp-mode services are not available.

When external devices connect to internet using tethering, applications such as browser, game, etc, of the devices may not work correctly in some situations.
